There's no answer to my post title if that's why you're reading this ^_^. But something I can let you in on is that the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is going to be on my birthday (since Australia is one day behind the US) and that Nicki Minaj is going to be performing there! I love that girl! I didn't really fancy her until I watched a short documentary on her and how she came to be. She has talent and will power by becoming highly successful in an all male industry! Below is lyrics to part of her song: "I'm the Best". I don't ever use bad language but I don't mind listening to her song even though it's not clean because that is who she is and she expresses herself through that.
I remember when i couldn't buy my mother a couch
now i'm sittin' at the closin' bought my mother a house
you could never understand why i grind like i do
Mikiyah and Gulani why i grind like i do
c-c-c-cause even when my daddy was on crack, i was crack
now the whole album crack you ain't gotta skip a track
i ain't gotta get a plaque, I ain't gotta get awards
i just walk up out the door all the girls will applaud
all the girls will commend, as long as they understand
that i'm fighting for the girls, that never thought they could win
cause before they could begin you told'em it was the end
but I am here to reverse the curse that they live in, got two bones to pick,
Ima only choose one, you might get addressed on the second album,
which means you can breath, tell i motherf*ckin' say,
to all my bad b*tches, i can see your halo
After today I would have to say my number one idol is Tyra Banks, not an idol in such a way that I want to become a supermodel like her, but an idol in such a way that I admire her for her ability to change people's lives and especially society's way of thinking. When she was a newbie in the industry, they told her to lose weight but her mother taught her to embrace her curves. She aimed to change the industry and to change the way people saw "beauty"!
"I could have seen me turning into the stereotypical b*tch conceited girl. I realized that prom queen, or being admired by your peers is not about being popular and being in Seventeen Magazine...I think that moment showed me that there's so much more to being recognized." - Tyra Banks, reflecting on a memorable moment from her prom.
I can't view the video below because it's not made available to my country but I hope you guys can watch it. And I hope it shows the important parts of the E! Special I saw today and inspires you guys to make a change too!
I have one more exam (Literature) before I am finally free.. somewhat. I will be going back to work after exams and I told my employer to fill me in as many shifts as possible, crazy right? I really want to earn as much money before I go on holiday to China so I can shop like my life depends on it in HK and Guangzhou! Then I can post them up here and show you my haul! Anyway, as promised I will post up my 2011 Fall Accessories and 2012 Spring Shoes when my exams are over which is in two days! Excited! Bye for now.
