Lavendar Lies

As posted on my 'Style' blog (with additional background information here):

If they don't talk with you,
then they talk about you.
But if you know yourself, then you
won't be harmed by what is said about you.

When stories travel around, your first reaction is to ask what is being said so then you know whether
your reputation is being damaged or not. But as lovely Dr Seuss says: "Those who mind don't matter,
and those who matter don't mind". Your close friends will know who you are and won't believe the
lies that are being told.  The only way this can bother you is that it may damage your ability to meet
new amazing people if there's a negative preconception about you. But wise John Wooden points out
that you should "be more concerned with your character than with your reputation".

When you know yourself enough, people will see past the lies being said about you when they meet
you. The only time you should care about negative gossip is when they are being spread by people
you trust. Then, should you go and investigate whether these people should continue to stay in your
life. I hope this post inspires you, because I've realised I've become a stronger, more confident,
person and I want to spread that love around so less people will be hurt by the negativity that
sometimes comes into their life.

The Secret Garden

by applesttar

The girl who found the key to the secret garden,
hid there trying to run away from the world beyond.
She tries to shut out her loneliness but no beauty could hide
the emptiness she carries inside.

This is my new attempt to have more fun, and bring more of me, of what I love. My passion with not just fashion but photography and stories. Over the past I've been so hyped up with trying to please people, trying to copy the other fashion bloggers, I had lost my sense of touch. This is what I love and I hope you love it too I really don't care whether you love it or not. It's time for me to embrace who I am and what I love and sharing them is part of the fun.
The story of the girl who shuts away her feelings, I think is unintentionally/subconsciously a representation of me. Though not the loneliness part, I am very happy with all the friends and family currently in my life. There is no such thing as loneliness to me. But it is me when it comes to shutting out negative emotions... I don't even know if I'm shutting them out, or they simply don't exit... I've always thought break ups meant tears and death but I've never been happier.

That Rare OOTD

Now that I've shut Infatuations by Elle down I wanted
to recap my favourite issue and favourite photos from that
issue. After all, this blog has been deprived  of OOTD
 for way too long.

LookBook

Started a lookbook account, here.

Here's the look for today. It's Anzac Day and my fam decided to go out for dimsum which was really nice. I love going out for dimsum with the family.

Haven't done a OOTD for agessss cause this blog has just been overrun by emotional posts of my life and anything fashion related generally goes into my Magazine Blog Infatuations by Elle. Trying to get more exposure for my blogs so I thought it would be great, and fun also, to open a lookbook account. The looks people have on there are so inspiring.

OOTD: Trenchcoat Trend

Survived the exams, found out there was a question I couldn't do at all, gasp! Can't be bothered these days studying too hard. As long as I don't drop too low for my own standards I'm happy. Well I still have quite a few assignments so I will be back again and gone again. But here's a post for my OOTD, had dinner with my parents because they just came back from China and all this time I had to cook for my two brothers.... sigh... just cause I'm a girl. But they washed the dishes so I'm not gonna complain!

Inspired by the following looks (but i thought i'd put an edgier twist to it):

OOTD: I'm Blue

Haven't worn this dress this summer and because the heat wave appears to be staying I thought I should make use of it and take out this beautiful navy blue dress.

Blue has always been my favourite colour. Recently I was also going through some old songs on YouTube today, and found Eiffel 65's song "Blue". So catchy! Brings me back to the days I would play hyper-actively like a tomboy with my brothers. Guess this is somehow inspired by the blue song.

OOTD: Classy Simpleness

Was desperate to wear these sweet kicks out so I decided to go window shopping with my mum today. So many bargains that I had to restrain myself from since I have blown my budget after going to China and swept all the shops in the country.

Shirt: Mum bought for me from HK (2-piece set)
Watch: Guangzhou
Jeans: Guangzhou (taobao-online shop)
Shoes: Daphne from Guangzhou

It's not everyday that someone compliments your shoes but today I was. And these kicks are so comfy too!

OOTD: Country Girl

Went shopping with some friends today because we needed to spend a $20 gift card we won... frustratingly, we did not end up spending it because luck was not on our side... every shop we asked about did not allow the use of the card! Anywho... here is the outfit of the day. Today was the hottest day of spring and my friend wanted me to wear heels with her (so she could practice in them for her office uniform at work) and I also decided to wear a pair of REALLY short skirt which my mum bought for me from China.

My mum is such a strange but awesome woman, other mothers would not allow their daughters to wear such short revealing clothes but my mother encourages me to for appropriate occasions. The skirt is so pretty, with flower prints which is I see in shops everywhere these days. It was so short though, I never wear short skirts (just short shorts), but I had biker shorts on so it was safe... so many people were staring at me when I walked around in the city today. Was it because I my skirt was too short? Or was it my legs were amazingly long? I hope it was the later. Not use to getting people's attention, I'm a shy quiet girl but I guess I'm finally breaking out of my shell. :)

I would prefer to wear brown heels to match but since my friend wanted me to wear them all day I had to wear the most comfortable ones I had! :) The bag was actually my mum's but I took it cause I loved it so much. I love you mum! <3 hehe... >.<

Note: The hula-hoop in the background, was trying to keep fit to wear my Lipsy dress for graduation but even though that is no longer THE dress, I will still continue to keep fit! Not to be like an annoying anorexic girl, but I don't think those legs should get any larger...

OOTD: Rocker Chick

I went shopping for my graduation dress today and this was my OOTF. I will post images of this beautiful dress sometime later. Today I went driving for the first time! I've been eligible to be behind the wheel ever since I turned 16 and that's been a whole year. Now that school has finished I can finally focus on getting my license!

Got reviews ready for my Origins Charcoal Mask and my Shu Uemura, they will come very soon! Also, I am thinking of stalking some Asian celebrity style and posting them on this blog. People such as Goo Hara from Korean Girl Band Kara, Hong Kong supermodel Angelababy, Chinese actress Crystal Lui and many other Hong Kong actresses from the TVB 2012 Sales Presentation Evening.
